Our mission is to help you move from where you have been to where God wants you to be.
It doesn’t matter what your past looks like, God has a plan for your life. We want to walk along side of people to help them discover God’s best for them and help them walk into who God has created them to be.
WE BELIEVE THAT THE PRESENCE OF GOD CHANGES LIVES.
If there is a God and you can be in His presence, we believe that changes you.
We live to see lives changed.
“You will fill me with joy in your presence…” (Psalms 16:11)
“The joy of the Lord is your strength…” (Nehemiah 8:10)
CEDARBEND EXISTS TO PURSUE GOD, LOVE PEOPLE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
We desire to create spaces where we can Belong, Believe and Become
who Christ created us to be.
We love people. We want to be a place where anyone can belong, even if you don’t believe. It doesn’t matter where you have been, what you have done or where you are at on your faith journey- you are welcome here! In our book, the only place believing comes before belonging is in the dictionary.
“Love your neighbor as yourself…” (Galatians 5:14)
We believe that if people pursue God and have a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ, the result is an authentic life-changing relationship with Him as Lord and Savior of our lives.
“…The free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23)
We believe that we are not just saved FROM something but FOR something.
We are not into building buildings, we are into building stories and that every story matters to God.
We believe that we all have a purpose and can make a difference.
“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus- the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” (Acts 20:24)
We are just a bunch of imperfect people, serving a perfect God. If you don’t have it all figured out, you have found the right place.
"God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble." (James 4:6)
No one prefers a replica over the original (unless it’s a trophy fish that you let stay swimming). We value being genuine in our pursuit of God and in our relationships with each other.
"Let love be genuine." (Romans 12:9)
We value being generous to God with our time, talent and resources–knowing that it is all His anyway.
"I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ." (Philemon 1:6)
BELIEFS ABOUT PEOPLE
God created people in his image, and everyone matters to God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Genesis 5:1-2)
All people are sinners and need God’s forgiveness. (Romans 3:23)
Those who confess and turn from their sin, trusting in Jesus Christ, will be saved by grace and become children of God, with the promise of eternal life. (John 3:16-17; Galatians 3:26)
BELIEFS ABOUT GOD
There is one living, sovereign God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Revelation 1:8; Isaiah 43:10-11; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)
Jesus was sent by the Father to live on earth; he was fully God and fully human, yet had no sin. Jesus willingly laid down his life and, after three days, rose from the grave. In doing this, Jesus fulfilled the payment for the world’s debt of sin. (Luke 1:31, 35; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father and Son to convict the world of sin and to empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. He lives in every believer and is a constant helper, teacher, and guide. (John 14:16-17)
BELIEFS ABOUT THE CHURCH, THE BIBLE,
AND CHRIST’S RETURN
Jesus Christ is the head of the church and all believing people are members. (Ephesians 4:15-16)
The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. We believe in being as clear as the Bible is. Nothing more. Nothing less. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; Revelation 22:17-19)
Jesus Christ will return and there will be a final judgment. (Matthew 24:3, 37)
